Cocatu-Nyirabirori - Rwanda 2018 Verified listing

COCATU washing station, located in the RULINDO district of the Northern Rwanda Province, was created in 2007 as part of the COCATU cooperative system. Twenty people began the operation including LIBERATHA NDAHAYO who acted as the cooperative president. In 2017 due to the global financial crisis, KININI WASHING STATION bought the cooperative and the Washing station from the member farmers in order to continue production.

We are working with the local population not only to improve their environment by significantly increasing their income so that they can improve their own well-being and feeling of self-worth.
This will allow the economy of the area to rise and spread to the communities adjacent to and beyond the project. The farmers will gain directly from the project by maintaining their own coffee land and receiving a fair price for their coffee cherries and a bonus on the quality.
