Description

Near the year 1949 our grand-grandfather Isaías Gómez Gómez, bought his first coffee farm, FINCA EL CENTRO. The property counts with an extension of 21 hectares and is located in Getsemaní of San Rafael of Heredia, Costa Rica. Only half was planted with coffee and Mr. Isaías, along with his workers, planted the other half of the estate putting in each coffee plant great enthusiasm and hope of having then best harvests. His passion for coffee started growing and in the coming years he continued to buy more farms; as FINCA CUADRO EL RIO and planted this precious bean.
In 1975, our grandgrandfather Isaías died and the estate was inherited by 4 of his 11 children; Lucia, Rosalia, Rodrigo and our grandfather Antonio Gomez Zamora; they continued to work the farm with great care and passion. In 1985 my grandfather Antonio died and our father Isaías Gomez Viquez, inherited this fourth part of the estate. Together Isaías Gómez Víquez and Beatriz Chaves Zamora, decided to continue the legacy and they bought the land from the other Gomez Zamora brothers. On September 2018, Isaías Gómez Víquez died.
Nowadays Beatriz and their 3 daughters owned 100% of the farm.

With great passion we have been renewing the farm with exotic varieties such as Bourbon, Villa Sarchí, Geisha and SL 28. The coffee from Finca El Centro, is processed in Brumas del Zurquí Micromill and presents a sweet taste of fruit and a fine balanced cup, which dazzles the senses to the palate.
This year Finca El Centro was rewarded by ACE as the 25th best coffee in Costa Rica, in 2018 #18 in 2017, #19 and in 2016 #2.
We want to continue this tradition and plant the seed of coffee in the women hearts of the 5th generation of Gómez Chaves family in coffee.
Our passion for coffee grows day by day from generation to generation and it is through this auction we invite our friends to enjoy the flavors of our coffee.

In each coffee bean we honor our ancestors with our soul, life and heart.
