Description

History of the farm

Lilian comes from a traditional coffee-growing family. Her father worked with coffee and passed his knowledge on to her, emphasizing the constant search for quality. The farm focuses on specialty coffees with the help of Lilian’s husband, André, who is a specialist in the area. André is the current Brazilian Cup Tasters Champion and the producer of the champion lot of Cup of Excellence Brazil 2019, Fazenda Pai e Filho. Thus the family has stood out in several regional competitions and, with the improved quality, is starting to participate in national competitions as well.

Coffee processing system

The coffee was selectively harvested with a mechanized harvester. The harvester passed through the fields three times, picking only ripe cherries. The coffee was dried slowly on a concrete patio. It rested for 30 days in big bags. The producer’s brother and nephew, Luismar and Marco Aurélio, are responsible for taking care of the coffee in the fields. Seasonal workers from Bahia help with the harvest, picking in areas that cannot be mechanized. Lilian is responsible for post-harvest processing.

Concern about quality

Always listening to the teachings of their tutor, the family strives to raise the scores of its coffees, working from the choice of varietals to plant to all harvest and post-harvest processing techniques to achieve high-quality coffees.
