Description

La Bandera de Dota-Tarrazú, San José Costa Rica

Elevation: 1850 msnm

Variety: TYPICA

Process:  HONEY

La Mesa farm is the oldest land that the Navarro family owns, it is easy to find at this farm, very old coffee trees of typica variety that Enrique Sr found when he starts to cultivate this land. With the conviction and having the vision of produce high-quality coffee, he decided to keep and cultivate this variety and the surprise was to win the CoE in 2014 with a score of 92.67, a Presidential award that recognizes years of hard work.

The Navarro family has been dedicated to coffee production for generations. But it was in 2009 that they decided to change the way to how the coffee is traditionally produced, for making it in a specialized way. Is not only to start processing the cherries in the mill but also to change all farm practices that are required to a specialty production of coffee. Always focuses on improving the quality and using the micro weather conditions like altitude, varieties, and soil on the farm, to create a different coffee profile and a more complex cup.

In the production, the whole family gets involved, dedication and passion are reflected in the cup, we enjoyed what we do, and the motivation is to provide the best cup of coffee as it is possible for the customers and final consumers.

By working micro-lots, traceability is very strict management in order to ensure quality.

We want to thanks to the people who made CoE 2020 possible, thank you for helping us to promote our coffees.

We are glad for being part of the coffee winners this year 2020 and it is a huge motivation to keep farming.
