Description

Since 1888, the Guirola family has been passionate about the cultivation of Coffee, our great-grandfather Ángel Guirola, one of the pioneers of coffee growing, founded the farm of an area of 154 Ha., And at a height above sea level that goes from 1,300 to 1,700 meters.
Working diligently together with the collaborators, to realize a great dream, which through the generations we can still continue; despite struggling with different types of crises.
We are the fourth and fifth generations, and, like our ancestors, we love coffee, and we work hard to keep that pride and tradition of being coffee growers alive.
We are a team in which each of its members gives the best of themselves (field workers, foremen, commander, technicians and owners) contributing ideas and working to make the crop a success in the best possible way.
The Montevideo farm has ancestral varieties (arabic, bourbon, pacas and pacamara) that have made our country famous.
In 2019, the farm was characterized plank by plank to know the quality of coffee that can be offered to buyers and thus obtain added values that will potentially help greatly to continue cultivating.
In the social aspect, we generate direct employment for an average of 90 collaborators for the maintenance of the farm, and at the time of harvest we have generated more than 500 jobs.
With the future generations in mind, the farm donated a 1.5 hectare plot of land for the construction of a school with kindergarten through high school levels, with the collaboration of the Habitat Foundation.
The clinic is financially sponsored, and we have also donated land for the workers' nursery school. After the 2001 earthquakes, several homeless settlers relocated, making donations of nearby land to build decent homes.
Together with FONAES, and the French embassy, a donation was made of a seed fund for 150 families, destined to rainwater catchment tanks with a capacity of 5,000 gallons each, since in the area, the issue of water is critical.
Regarding the environment, we take care of and reproduce plant species typical of the area, in addition to capturing rainwater in about 400 pits of an average of 10 cubic meters each, filling up about 5 times or more during the winter.
We have been qualified by “Coffee Practices” with a note of 93 points.
Our pride is to continue, and excel with the cultivation of coffee that has given so much to our beloved El Salvador.
