Description

Irma Esther Madrid Villanueva is the owner of the Finca El Carbonal located at 1550 meters, in the San Luis Planes Village, Municipality of Santa Barbara, Department of Santa Barbara. It is a family owned farm, where both her children and her husband collaborate with the daily maintenance.

Due to the proximity of a protected National Park, she performs conservation and cleaning practices on the farm, with special care to limit the use of plastics.

Currently two people collaborate permanently and temporarily from 15 to 30 at harvest time.

Irma Esther considers that her coffee is distinguished by the combination of factors such as the altitude of the farm, the cultivation of the Pacas variety, the regulation of the shadow for which she uses avocado and plum fruit trees; as well as the control of pests and diseases and the periodic analysis of the soil.

Cup of Excellence: For us it is a very good benefit, because that way we meet people who are interested and look for the quality of the coffee and that opens doors for us. The cut of the coffee is red bean, the coffee is cut and selected, then left to rest after being passed through the machine and left for 71 hours and then washed.
