Description

The farm Los Naranjos or the Organge trees was acquired in 1974 thanks to the effort and work of my father, Mr. Rafael Cortés Hernández, since then he has dedicated himself to growing coffee. When he decided to give me the property in 2012, I decided to renew the coffee plantation with varieties: Garnica and Marsellesa.
The location of our farm is at Totutla, Huitzilan de Serdan municipality in Puebla state, at 19,9192535O; 97,7199618N up to the Cuxateno River.
At the farm we are committed to preserve plants and trees from the region as chalahuite, illite, pagua, orange trees, jenecuil, jonote (Heliocarpus appendiculatus), which provide the plantation with regulated shade. The work that is done on this farm is carried out by people from the community who maintain employment throughout the year.
During the harvest, a selective cut of the most ripe fruits is made, later it is washed, the vain coffees are removed, and it is pulped to give it an anaerobic fermentation in sealed plastic tanks, and we wash the coffee; then we give it a slow drying in African beds. We do our process fermentations with hygiene and care of parameters, watching ph, ° Brix.
The activity has been a family tradition for two generations which i adopted as a main economic job. The production has been managed in a sustainable way and a selective collection of fruits, giving it a different process to the conventional process, giving it an adequate fermentation, and drying slowly in African beds or shifters. It was done selectively, choosing only ripe fruits. with higher index of hygiene and care of parameters, watching ph and °Brix.
We stock the parchment coffee in GrainPro plastic bags and jute bags in a proper place. Our quality is evaluated by cuppers.
