The name "Finca Grano de Oro" is derived from the fact that its founder Fidelino Hernandez Garcia with the support of his wife Hortencia Lucas Roblero, for many years have dedicated themselves to working in the coffee process and as a result of the sale of this product they were building his patrimony, to the point of stating that coffee is sold like gold, since it is money for the sustainability of the family and added to this his children who are professionals today managed to complete their academic studies thanks to coffee, because with the sale of this product, covered the necessary expenses.
In the wet mill where the coffee is processed, clean water is used directly from springs, the Honey Waters are deposited in pits created for this purpose, signs have been placed inside the plots that prohibit the hunting of animals and felling of trees, also to Soil conservation works live barriers, these measures have been implemented to take care of the environment and not contaminate it.
As small producers we want to be able to export our coffee internationally and obtain fair prices, since the support costs of coffee farming have currently risen. By 2021, Anacafé organized the competition for coffee processes of unique varieties, we decided to develop a micro lot of Honey coffee to be able to participate as finalists in the international stage, in the Higland Huehue competition in 2022 we obtained FIFTH PLACE at the Huehuetenango level, this year 2023 we also participated in said competition and we are waiting for results. We believe in the quality of our coffee and that is why this year 2023 we decided to participate in the "Cup of Excellence" organized by Anacafé, trusting in God that we will be able to place our coffee internationally.
