Description
I've been interested in coffee since college, my final project is also about coffee companies. In my opinion, coffee has many values including the value of land conservation. I come from Pangalengan, which is a mountainous area in Bandung. Because we live in a village, if we want to go to the city we usually say we want to go down (the mountain). On that trip, it often happens that we are worried or even unable to walk because of the flood. For me, flooding is a very unfortunate problem because often floods, especially those caused by overflowing rivers, can be prevented with agricultural practices that are suitable for the conditions of the sloping land around the watershed.
In addition, another value of coffee is to improve the standard of living of people living around the forest. The coffee tree is a tree that can be said to be not too fussy so that coffee can be an alternative source of income for the community because in general, the work needed to take care of coffee is picking during harvest and fertilizing after the harvest season is over.
My hope is that in the future, we as Indonesian coffee players will be able to put Indonesian coffee back on the world coffee map, especially specialty coffee.
