Description

Cafe Arelio HistoryAurelio Mamani Ramirez learned how to grow coffee with his father. When he grew up, he decided to follow in his footsteps because he wanted economic security. “Coffee is very important to us. We support ourselves with coffee. We have no other income. It’s also the crop that earns us the most.” This producer decided to participate in the competition for the money and because of the experience of other colleagues in past years. Now he is satisfied with his coffee. “I feel proud to have won. I know that I managed the coffee well, especially knowing that there were 269 competitors.” Aurelio believes his coffee is good, and he wants to tell buyers “My coffee is well processed. I know that I put care and effort into the process. That’s why next year I want to get better and get to first or second place.” With this attitude of improvement, Aurelio is already clear about what he will do with the money he gets from the auction. “We’ll use the money to send our children to study. We’ll improve our coffee production in order to produce more. Our storage shed is wood, and we want to make a new brick one. We want to buy a depulper with a filter in order to process our coffee better.
