Overview

Esquipulas, Chiquimula, are a region where the coffee production is an important economic activity. It is in that beautiful and prosperous town, where is located Volcan Raspado coffee farm. The coffee plantation has an extension of 35 hectares; coffee is produced to an altitude range of 4800 - 5350 feet. Volcan Raspado is surrounded by a cloudy forest and blessed with natural water sources. It’s a productive farm that produces an average of 900 (67kg coffee bags). We have planted two varieties: catuai, imported from Brasil and 7 hectares, approximately, with pacamara, imported from El Salvador . Mr. Eulogio Guerra Garcia, current owner, began to prepare the land to produce coffee in 1996; two years later he had the first production. From the beginning, coffee plantation protects natural forest and soil, since previously the area was used to seed basic grains. The name Volcan Raspado comes from a hill located in the property. The people of the place tell history that at midnight, in the hill, they can listen to sing a rooster. They say that the rooster is unique, because it has gold pens. In the farm a quality process is followed; from the moment that harvest finish: we prepared the soil with organic matter, realized selective pruning in the plants and make other works in field, for maintaining a productive coffee farm. We work harvest in three phases, of 25 days each one. The persons working during harvest, receive training courses and the most important, they have experience working in our coffee plantation. The coffee is processed in an ecological wet mill; brand Pihnalense, located in Olopita village, Esquipulas. The wet mill was designed, based on environmental studies. Our coffee is dried in patios, when it reaches 12 degrees is packaged in yute bags. Volcan Raspado has a cupping laboratory, to analyze and supervise quality of our extraordinary coffee Guatemala n Coffee Website
