Description

About the

Farm: Las Manos Farm is located in El Cielito, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Barbara, Honduras . This is an area widely known for its coffee quality and for growing uncommon fruits to our country like strawberries and blueberries, as well as vegetables and grains. The climate is cool and the mountains are quite high, and a lot of rain in the area. This region has a high potential for the growth of special coffees, since a big number of the participants that make it to the Cup of Excellence are from here and three of them have won first place in different years (Natividad Benitez, Bertilio Reyes Portillo Y Amado Fernandez). Las Manos keeps coffee farming activities, making sure the coffee is haversted homogenously and only ripe. Also care is taken to assure correct wet mill and coffee drying procedures. Santos belongs to a group called Specialty Coffees “Cielito Lindo” and she also forms part of the Honduran Association of Coffee Growers (AHPROCAFE). About her Family:
Santos begins growing coffee with her late husband who also participated in COE. Nowadays she manages the farm with the help of her daughters.
