About the farm:

Farm “Santa Gema” is located in the community Los Ardos, municipality of Mozonte, Department of Nueva Segovia and is 1450m above the sea level, surrounded by big mountains full of trees and animals of different species with abundant water spring where we grow specialty coffee that reached four ranks in the Cup of Excellence competition. I am owner of this farm for 15 years already. The land is 50 mz out of which 22mz are with coffee (15 mz in production process and 7 mz in development process). The total production of the farm is 4000 QQ of the catui and maracatu variety.

About his family:

I have a wife and three children. My family is in the coffee business for a lot of year. When I was a child my parents were already in the coffee sector.

What is the secret of your success?

In the first place to produce good coffee you have to work very gently and with care. Making the entire job in the farm strictly efficient and the good management in the wet and dry mill is very important.

His experience in the Cup of Excellence:

I think that the Cup of Excellence is a prestigious event for all the coffee producers. For me is an honor to participate in the competition, to have won this award and to know that I have a coffee of high quality is even a bigger honor. At the same time through this event we get to know the best coffees of Nicaragua .
