Description

Overview

San Bernardo is located in Fraijanes region and uses only best varieties of coffee: Catuai, Bourbón and Hybrid bred, to produce high quality coffee. Juan Antonio Padilla, a young worker in Finca San Bernardo currently studies agronomy at the university and works along his father Faustino Padilla a dedicated worker who has been Finca San Bernardo’s general administrator for over 44 years. Juan Antonio considers that apart from natural given conditions the secret in great coffee production rests in tradition, experience and Passion. He believes that, these are three factors that managed together make Finca San Bernardo exceptional. Finca San Bernardo has been a coffee plantation since 1928 and used to be called Finca San Victor. It was bought by Rodolfo Zrnovsky in 1945 and it is believed that he changed the name to Finca San Bernardo. In 1967 the coffee plantation was bought by Rodolfo Figueroa Argueta, grandfather of the current owners, but did not work alone. Amparo Rodriguez de Figueroa, his wife, worked every day at coffee production with the help of Faustino Padilla and Everildo Padilla. Amparo stopped working in plantation at age of 85. Faustino and Everildo continue working at coffee plantation. Amparo left the plantation to be run by my Vilma Figueroa de Gandara helped for loyal administrators, quality control managers and workers. Finca San Bernardo has been owned since 2000 by Corporacion San Bernardo del Cerrito, S.A. and it´s continues producing coffee based on family values and tradition. We are really concern about quality at Finca San Bernardo. The farm can be described as one of the best quality coffee producers of the region due to passion and knowledge provided by long careers of its workers.
