Description

Overview

This farm was bought 60 years ago by Adan Monge Castro who then inherited the farm to his 4 sons. After some years Mr. Luis Fernando and his wife Emilia Quiros decided to start sowing coffee on this land that was dedicated to cattle. They started their coffee plantation with a lot of effort and with the money they have saved from selling fruit in the market. Year after year their plantation grew bigger with more coffee as well as cypress and a lot of other trees from the region since part of the farm is mountain. This part is very important to preserve because of the flora and fauna of the region, were you can find sloths, parakeets, squirrels, coyotes, pigeons and many other animals.
The farm is mainly coffee but you can also find a lot of trees as avocadoes, oranges, granadilla, anona, etc. Thanks to the coffee they have been able to send both their children to school and get a university degree. The name, El Roble, comes from the several trees at the property. This is a strong tree that grows for years. The farm is 4 manzanas of land and 3 of them have coffee. It is a caturra variety and it’s 1729 meters above sea level.
Our mission is to continue growing coffee, getting a better and bigger harvest, maintaining the quality and thanks to the support of ASOPROAAA from the plantation through the whole process, this is a dream come true. The milling process is washed and sun dried on patios and African beds.
