Description

Rusizi Specialty Coffee was established in 2006 with one coffee washing station named MUHEHWE CWS .It is a private company owned by NGABONZIZA Jean Bosco. It is located in RWIMBOGO Sector, RUSIZI District, Western Province at 3 Km from both neighboring countries DRC and Burundi . The coffee washing station works closely with cooperatives namely COOPANYE and INKINGI with about 3000 members (mainly women 60%) who play a vital role as they are the main supply of fresh cherries to the washing station. Due their good working relationship and enough supply of cherries, a new coffee washing station was built in Nyenji sector (Nyenji CWS) in 2010, just to avoid long distances between field and the coffee washing station.
Among the major achievements towards the society, Rusizi Specialty Coffee has build nursery school for the community in the surrounding area, mainly cooperative members who work with the CWS and it has distributed electricity power to 1300 families.
