Description

Evelio was born the 3rd of July of 1969, after finishing his 5th grade of primary school he got married with Luz Mery Sotelo. They have now 11 sons, from Edinson Andrés until Maria José; they are 4 men and 7 women the people that are part of this family.

Evelio is a man of journey his quote: “for attending the rise up of this nice number of sons that god allowed me to have with Luz Mery, I cannot wait until the sunrise to go out and find the bread of my children” thanks to his stepfather that let him a piece of land where to build his house in the village of Bruselas – Pitalito and two lots that he named “La Loma” and “El Futuro” added up result in 2.5 hectares from which 1.67 are cultivated in coffee, from those 30% are renovated with Castillo “variety due to the time for changing the non productive coffee trees” he said.

There he plant what he needs in terms of food for providing the family. As he needed to work as a laborer in different activities, he also worked at the cooperative of coffee producers carrying loads of coffee bags; he commented that he had the daily opportunity to compare physically his coffee with the colleagues. He concludes the need of being part of the Colombia n Coffee Growers Federation and he filled the application form for getting his ID “Cédula Cafetera”. One day I knew the process to be part of the quality contest and motivated by the expression “I also can do it” I got to be next to the selected group of the “harsh of quality”.

Fortune I share with my family. My goal from now until the future is to invest in my family what we could get from the auction, to show my children that hard work with honesty and dedication is the best price to the opportunity that god give us of living and being a good sample for all the coffee producers.
