Overview:

Alotepeque farm is located in a very special microclimate at Concepción Las Minas, Chiquimula. They produce coffee on a 70% of the farm, and 30% are natural forest.  The property stands from 4000 to 5100 feet above sea level.

The farm has the upriver of River Las Minas, an important source that provides water to some communities; on the forest they also have different kind of birds, especially toucans.

History

On 1860, came from Europe to Guatemala , Mr. Guillermo Duarte Cazanga, to work as miner in Concepción Las Minas, Chiquimula, who carried the coffee seed, to begin the family history as coffee growers.  His son, Luciano Duarte Martínez, cultivated on the region some coffee and sugar, but after his death, all coffee plantations were replaced with different products.  But, on 1983 his grandson and current owner, Mr. Mario Jordán Duarte, decides to continue the coffee tradition; so on 2000 he established Alotepeque Farm.

Description

Alotepeque is blessing with good soils, great microclimates and experience to produce quality coffee.  The farm has wet and dry mills to process all bean and offer to consumers an exceptional coffee.
