Name and Location of the Farm:

Buenos Aires is located in the Region of Las Manos, Dipilto, Nueva Segovia. The plantations are located at an altitude 1,300 mosl. Is used mostly Bucarro as shade in the coffee plantations. The farm has several waterholes that supply the kitchen of the farm and the needed fumigation. These waterholes are cared for in order to have water all year.

Tell us The Farm History:

This farm was inherited by my Father, and he received this legacy of his father. When my father took over the farm had almost two acres of coffee, the rest was pasture. The total area of the farm is 35 apple of land, which now are planted with coffee in its entirety. The numbers of quintals produced are about 700 quintals. I am the third generation that has this property. I inherited my dad's for 2 years, and I hope my kids inherit it.

Family Generations:

This is the third generation who works in the farm. My Father inherited 2 years ago. My family consists of 5 members, which depends on the production methods of the farm. We know the hard work that we have to develop at the farm to be productive. In itself is a challenge for me to make produce more and more, as this is the livelihood of my family.

What is your secret for winning the competition?

Basically the secret of producing a Coffee Quality lies in having a strict quality control from cutting coffee (Only coffee very red) until the dry mill process. It's a pretty extensive process, which requires a lot of people with knowledge and experience. Obviously this must be added the benefits of the estate and the geographic location.

How do you feel to have been a winner?

Very happy because this is a reward for hard work that one has done throughout the year. This award motivates us to keep striving and improving.

What do you think about the Cup of Excellence?

I think it is a Great event because through this the producers unveil their best Coffees, furthermore, it puts up to Nicaragua , as a producer country. Nicaragua is disclosed as an even more attractive country and with working people.
