Description
The name of the farm “Macho”, that means “Blond”, is the nickname of its owner, Don Efraín. He has been a coffee producer for the last 40 years. His father taught him how to work by giving him a piece of land when he was 14 years old and from that moment on the passion for this beautiful work was born. .
This farm was acquired in 2004 after some years of effort and sacrifice. Together with his son, Gelbert Naranjo they fought to change the traditional coffee method and with ambition and enthusiasm they where able to buy a property to keep this passion of growing the golden bean and in 2010, they started to process their own coffee.
Finca Macho is located in Santa Rosa de León Cortes at 1900 meters over sea level. The farm has a privileged climate and characteristics for a coffee plantation such as: very well defined weather seasons, an excellent position toward the sun, slowly ripening bean that allows a better concentration of its attributes, coffee varieties adapted to this elevation (Caturra, Red Catuaí, Mocha, Bourbón, Gesha, Typica), a soil rich in organic material and good agronomic management to our plants.
Finca Macho is the shield and the emblem of our micro mill Santa Rosa 1900. We have been recognized nationally and internationally by this property, which gives us a great satisfaction.
This is the third year this farm participates in Cup of Excellence with great results in all the editions, reaching the International Auction:
