Description
The farm is located in a rural area with a very small population characterized for being a very religious and superstitious community. The farm was named VARA BLANCA (white stick) because in this region you can find a lot of bushes that grow vertically in a rod-shaped and people gave this name to the region, so we decided to give the same name to the farm.
The farm is managed under the conventional method that respects the environmental protection programs such as: soil and water care and adequate shade management.
After many years of saving we were able of complete our dream of buying more coffee farms and having our own Micro Mill; that dream is called MICROBENEFICIO GRANO DE ORO LA ROSITA. We have been operating for a few years and it has been difficult but with some unforgettable experiences. Last year, we won eighth place of Cup of Excellence despite being the first year of participation in the event. The experience of participating in the international auction has been unforgettable. We now know we will face challenges and difficulties in certain economic times, since we must invest time and resources to have such awards. I think the program is a great opportunity that lets the producer know the quality of coffee produced and thus implement the measures and strategies to improve the quality, cup and milling procedures based on the recommendations of national and international cuppers who value coffee.
