Las Flores - Honduras 2015 Verified listing

Doña María is married to Jorge Lanza, 2013 Honduras Cup of Excellence winner. Their coffee is grown in a marvelous place called “Las Flores”, in Sta Barbara.

Their land and coffee is not the only reason what they have won this prize, Doña Maria’s effort, enthusiasm for and devotion to this coffee shows in the cup. Once harvested and pre-dried on the farm, the coffee is brought to Doña Maria’s home in San Pedro Sula. There it is transferred into a solar dryer, where she dries the coffee, carefully monitoring the moisture every hour and singing, as if it was lullaby.

Her only company is her grandchildren that play in the background while she carefully moves the coffee herself.
