NAME AND LOCATION OF THE FARM:
Farm La Picona is located in Las Manos, Dipilto department of Nueva Segovia, with an area of 7 manzanas of land* in the middle of a nature reserve, on the border between Nicaragua and Honduras with a gazebo and vehicle access, is at a height approximately of 1,300 m.o.s.l.

TELL US THE FARM HISTORY:
I bought the farm 10 years ago with a total land area of 14 manzanas of land, from which 5 manzanas of land are in production two acres in renovation and 7 manzanas of land are nature reserve. The existing variety of coffee is Maracaturra, with a variety of flora and fauna in the part of the nature reserve, as well as bananas, orange, plum, mango and avocado in coffee areas. La Picona has an annual production of approximately 65 QQ of green coffee

FAMILY GENERATIONS:
Farm La Picona is the heritage of the family for 10 years and in it is involved the whole family which has 4 members, my husband and my two children

WHICH IS YOUR SECRET FOR WINNING THE COMPETITION?
First, God is the one who blesses us always to favor us with pleasant micro climate and a height that favors the production of coffee as well as good management of maintenance, cutting, wet milling and dry benefited to ensure the final quality of the grain.

HOW DO YOU FEEL OF BEEN ONE OF THE WINNERS?
I felt very excited and happy to know that achieves the second place, it helps me to keep working the farm to harvest better quality every day.

IN WHAT YOU WILL BE INVESTING PROFIT TO BE OBTAINED FROM ELECTRONIC AUCTION?
This is an opportunity to invest on the farm, to improve the quality, education of my children and support social programs.

HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE COMPETITION BEFORE? HAVE YOU WON PREVIOUSLY?
Yes, I have participated for 6 consecutive years. In 2009 I got the fourth place, in 2011 ranked 17th, ranked 20th in 2012, in 2014 ranked 15th, and this year I got the second place

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CUP OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM?
It is a big event where are allowed producers to make known the quality of coffee we cultivate, and encourage us to continue striving to improve every year, to grow in plantations and production as well as an opportunity to improve income in the Family.
