NAME AND LOCATION OF THE FARM:
Farm Luz y Sombra de Janeiro has an area of 30 manzanas of land*, is located 2 kilometers from the city of San Rafael del Norte, heading north, with an average height of 1250 mosl, with precipitation between 1800 a 2000 mm. mainly covered Guaba shadow and forest reserves.

TELL US THE FARM HISTORY:
Until 1990 in the farm there were plantations of basic grains and sweet cane. Starting in the year 1990 planting coffee mainly the varieties of Caturra and Red Catuai.

FAMILY GENERATIONS:
This farm was acquired in 1990 and that was when we started planting coffee. Our family consists of five members, our children are not directly involved even in the farm by they are studying, but when finished they will help us with the farm.

WHICH IS YOUR SECRET FOR WINNING THE COMPETITION?
First We have a farm with an excellent location and height. We also have excellent varieties of coffees. We care much cutting and wet milling.

HOW DO YOU FEEL OF BEEN ONE OF THE WINNERS?
Be one winner is an incentive for my drives me to become more efficient way to provide high quality coffee.

IN WHAT YOU WILL BE INVESTING PROFIT TO BE OBTAINED FROM ELECTRONIC AUCTION?
A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be aimed at improving the management of plantations profit and put best currently i have damp.

HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE COMPETITION BEFORE? HAVE YOU WON PREVIOUSLY?
For the first time we participate in 2014 and managed 9th place and this year we got twenty place with 86.58

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CUP OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM?
It is an excellent opportunity to get known our coffees, is a great incentive and healthy competition.
