Description

The coffee washing stations is located in Nyamasheke district, Gihombo sector, Gitwa cell, Gaseke village, in western province dominated by mountains which make part of the East African Rift Valley. Cherries are collected from a number of local collection centres. Individual members of the cooperatives have been designated as clerks, delighters and loaders. Rwamatamu CWS works with estimated 2,000 farmers surrounding its coffee washing stations.

The way towards our Fully washed coffee

The full washed coffee is wet processed by the pinhalense machine which receive, pre-clean, and de-pulp, gravity separate the defected cherries with undesired ones.  Received cherries are sorted out on tables to separate unripe, defected and undesirable cherries from high quality cherries. The remaining ripe red cherry is then immersed in a water tank and “floaters” are removed. After beans are obtained, they are again cleaned, sorted and dried to get one of the best quality coffee in the world.

*It is their first time to win Cup of Excellence competition in this year 2015
