Name and Location of the Farm:

La Dueña, is located in Ojo de Agua in the municipality of Dipilto, Nueva Segovia. Is located at 1,370 m.o.s.l. with diversity of forest space y shadow for coffee, also from birds, with enjoyable weather from 18° to 26° of temperature the mostly of the year.

The Farm History: 

Was acquired 20 years ago and it was been cultivating little by little. The Farm has an extension of 75 Apples of land and 43 are cultivated and these produce 35 QQ per Apple of land. In the farm are cultivated the varieties of Catuai, Red and Yellow Caturra, Maracatu, Catimor and others.

Family Generations:

Our family is formed by my husband Mr. Juan Ramon Diaz Suarez and myself Jenny Bustamante Moncada, we have three kids Angelica Maria, Juan Ramon and David Antonio and two grandchildren: Angel Rogelio and Jenny Elisa.

What is your secret for winning the competition?

Do a good handling of the plants (Nursery Garden, Cleaning, Nutrition of the Plants, etc.). Is important at the moment of harvest select only ripe fruits and give an adequate coffee processing both wet and dry and, overall to do it with a lot of love.

How do you feel to have been a winner?

Very very happy and committed to keep the quality and improve even more this quality from coffee.

What do you think about the Cup of Excellence?

I think it is a good Competition, allowing us to show the coffee quality we produce, this is a window to positioning and achieving sell my coffee to better prices that the market at this moment.
