José Roberto Monterroso has generously decided to donate 50% of lot 3A and 50% of lot 3B to Funcafé – Guatemalan Coffee Foundation for Rural Development. When Fuego volcano erupted on June 3rd villages and coffee farms were affected. According to Anacafé, as of June 7, the estimated damage caused by the eruption of the Fuego volcano affected 5,098 coffee families, directly affected 5,489 manzanas of land, losses in production are approximately 53,610 quintals of green coffee, equivalent to 1.27% of the national production of exportable coffee for the crop season 2018-2019. If you bid on lot 3A or 3B, 50% of your money will go to helping to victims of this natural disaster in Guatemala.

MORITO
The farm is located in the small village Morales, municipality of Mataquescuintla, department of Jalapa. Located in the west length: 90° 12’ 30”, north latitude 14° 33’ 41.4”.
Climate and Altitude:
The farm has, in general, with an altitude from the 1,400 to 2,350 mts over the sea level of the crop of coffee and with a maximum altitude of 2, 650mts over the sea lever, with cold template weather, with temperatures from 7C to 25C, with an average of annual pluvial precipitation from 1,100 to 1700 mm.
SIZE OF THE FARM:
The farm has 672 hectares, distributed in the next way, area with coffee 98.0 hectares, pasture land 50.6 hectares and has a forest of 523.4 hectares of conservation, almost all the forest is a natural forest of pine, cypress, Encino, pinabete, oak, zope, guachipilin, etc.
HARVESTING TIME:
The production of coffee begin in January and ends in April, getting 4 month of production.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
Nursery: El Morito farm has its own nursery, with the purpose of have the quality control of the plant that is going to be used for the sowing of new areas and for the re sowing of the old cropping areas. Its own nursery help to do good agricultural practices, for example manual management of molasses, the use of preventing phytosanitary products, allowed by the agricultural authorities of the country.
El Morito farm works with many varieties giving priority to the ones that are better adapted to the climate conditions of the region, the varieties that the farm has are Pache San Ramon, Catuaí, Bourboon, Maragogipe, Pacamara, Maracatu and Geisha.
HARVEST:
The harvest is one of the most important steps in the process of coffee production, because of this step depends almost all the success of the future production in the harvest area. In El Morito farm, for the new areas that will be cropped, we do not eliminate the native trees, the plantations are cropped under the trees and the same ones are used as permanent shadow.

The farm has special techniques that make us different from the rest and these are that we the use equipment and apply the agrochemical product in a correct way. The farm use manual control of the weed. Conservation of the ground. Protection of the natural recourses of the water and the flora and fauna.
