Description
Grupo Los Grandes de Copey project was born in 2011, with the goal of producing the highest quality coffee. Thanks to the families, Salas and Monge, who had the vision to develop what today is Hacienda Copey. All the management of the farm is in charge of family members, who take care of every detail of the process to produce an excellent coffee.
Altitude: from 1900 m.a.s.l. (6233 feet) to 2160 m.a.s.l. (7086 ft.).
Coffee Varietals: Each micro-plot is differentiated by a coffee varietal, among which, the most common are Red Catuaí and Yellow Catuaí Yellow in the lowest lands. In the middle lands there is Villa Sarchí and Villalobos, while in the highest lands we have Geisha.
This year's lot of Don Antonio is a Geisha variety, in a Black Honey process giving well defined floral notes, red fruits, fine lemon acidity, which make it an exceptional coffee. Don Antonio won first place COE 2017, Second Place COE 2018, Third Place COE 2019, making it a very consistent coffee.
