Description

Mr. José Percy Alfaro Chetilan and his family are dedicated to the production of coffees following the tradition of their parents, since coffee is the main economic input for all the families of this small place, called El Palto in the Yamon district of the department from Amazonas. He named his plot “El Colibrí” which means The Hummingbird thus to when he was 11 years old, one day he was resting, hummingbird landed on his head, which was very spiritual for his family.
Currently this plot has red and yellow geisha coffee varieties, and it is located at an altitude of 1800 mas. He is a partner of the Agrarian Coffee Cooperative PROCECAM Ltda. which encourages more producers to grow high quality varieties to improve the standard of living of families.

Mr. José Percy Alfaro Chetilan planted the Geisha variety in 2019, due to the knowledge in varieties and processes that he acquired in the training of his organization.

One of the goals as a producer is to obtain recognition for the quality of his product and in this way be able to support his family. This year is his second production and it was decided to participate in this important event, which is the VII Cup of Excellence competition in Peru 2023.
