My name is Jairo Omar González, our farm has been participating in the Cup of Excellence Contest for 6 years and this year we obtained the first places of COE WINNER. Last year (2021), we reached the National Auction. We have always been in the second phase of the Cup of Excellence Contest, we moved along with great effort to the second phase of the Contest. We have been overseeing our farm, acquired for 12 years now, but my grandparents and my mother have been working in the coffee Industry for a long time, so it is already a tradition. My coffee has always been one of the specialty coffees and now there is going to be a better opportunity to improve the price, because in that way, one makes improvements to the coffee.
We have shared this achievement with our family, our workers; we are all happy because it is hard work to get there and see these results.
This has been a hard work for the buyer, the roaster, to have a direct relationship with the producer, without intermediaries because the producer always gets the least, and that is why we think and believe that carrying out the Cup of Excellence Contest is a good opportunity to have a direct relationship between buyer, roaster and producer. And this helps the sales of the farm and also the history of our coffee. It should also be noted that it is a promotion for our country and farms, because we have a protected area, where we have 10 coffee manzanas mnzs and 58 mnzs in reserve, which are virgin mountains.
