Description
Oscar Tinoco, the owner of "Pino de Oro" and the fourth-place winner in this year's COE, purchased the farm "La Leona" in 2015. He established a greenhouse with pacamara, recalling the patience and care required for this variety of coffee, which needed four re-sowings before becoming productive. In an amusing twist, he opted to present the pacamara in a Natural process because the drum pulper couldn't accommodate it, risking damage to the beans and lowering the coffee's quality significantly.
Oscar is concerned that while his farms typically produce micro-lots of coffee with the quality of a COE winner, the quantity remains low. He expresses gratitude, firstly to God, for blessing him in a way that allows him to positively impact not only his immediate family but also his entire community. He also appreciates the great experiences he has had with his buyers in the past.
He trusts that he can build a legacy that will be inherited by his son, an agronomist engineer specializing in crops and farm management with a focus on sustainable practices.
