Brief history of the productive unit:
Sowing coffee is a family heirloom, primary inheritance from Mariano Reyes that has been transferred to Guadalupe Alberto Reyes and his brothers and after their children. Thus, in August 1997, as a result of a family effort was purchased the San Patricio el Limón farm located in Palencia, Guatemala. Part of the success of their history has been that they started buying very small pieces of land with a lot of effort. At the beginning they had some setbacks due to the lack of technical knowledge for coffee production. However, they have learned from experiences and being a third generation farm had allowed their children to get specialization in the study of Agricultural Sciences to increase yield and productive quality. They had discovered that the business and the secret to achieve a good cup of coffee is to select good seeds, good varieties, lands with good soils and altitudes and the appropriate agricultural practices. All these efforts have allowed them to export strictly hard coffee to countries such as New Zealand, England, the United States, and others for 10 years.
With lands from 1,350mt. Up to 1,850mt above sea level, Guadalupe Alberto Reyes and his family in recent years have worked hard to incorporate new varieties to obtain better cups of coffee. Some of the varieties recently incorporated to the plantation are: SL28, H1, H3, Maracaturra, Maragogipe, Bourbón, Geisha, Pacamaras, Caturras and Catuaí (yellow and red). In addition, around 8 water reservoirs have been built around the entire farm in order to preserve this vital liquid and somehow ensure the sustainability of the farm.
