Description

My name is Julia Ortega Carballo and for 2 decades I realized that it was important to develop a sustainable crop with quality and that dream has now become a reality with Finca Los Pinos. I come from a traditional coffee-growing family, the Ortega Carballos have taught me not only to produce coffee, but to work responsibly, as coffee is a crop with a great social and economic impact in the northern highlands of Puebla. At Finca Los Pinos we protect biodiversity with carbon capture and footprint work with organic management in the crop, we are currently pioneers in Mexico by becoming the first certified carbon neutral farm in 2020. In these coffee plantations we work people with high sense of environmental responsibility without neglecting quality, teaching all employees to love and enjoy this land. It is clear that without female labor this cultivation would not be possible. We work as a team where we all contribute what we know, personally I have the technical and moral assistance of Rubén, my husband, my life partner, the advice of my parents Doña Candy and Don Aristeo, all of them have contributed their grain so that I can produce this wonderful coffee from Finca Los Pinos. The trees that give shade to the coffee plantation are Pine Ocote, oaks, chalahuites (Inga Spuria), grevilleas. We cut and harvest only red fruits thanks to the training and experience of the workers, we have ecological despulpe module, the drying is done in beds. We do quality evaluations of each cut and analysis of soils. THE FARM HAS THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Organic Coffee LPO MEXICO by Mayacert México S.C. USDA Certified Organic Coffee by Eco-logica International Agency of Costa Rica. Carbon Neutral coffee certified with SGS international
