Description
I am a fourth-generation coffee producer, and currently, my son and I represent the last generation involved in coffee production in our family. We grew up witnessing the difficulties and complexities of harvesting coffee, including challenges such as Coffee Rust, Nematode infestations, and the volatility of prices.
This is the fifth time we have managed to participate in the electronic auction. I believe the secret to our success lies in a combination of three factors: the hard work and dedication of every member involved in coffee production; the care and support provided by my wife, who listens to me, comforts me, wakes up early to assist me in preparing for work in the fields, and sympathizes with my complaints about coffee; and the support we receive from the community, particularly from Beneficio San Vicente. They help us connect with buyers, prepare samples for participation, assist in every stage of the process, including qualifying our coffee for competitions, and sending out samples.
I believe that we, as members of the Santa Barbara community, are doing an excellent job working together to uphold the reputation of Santa Barbara as the origin of champions.
