Description
Tributos del Ota is born in the Santa María de Dota valley, a region located 64 km southeast of San José, the capital of Costa Rica, between the mountains of the Talamanca mountain range.
Said valley enjoys stable weather conditions favoring an optimal and homogeneous ripening of the fruit. Due to its height, the production of a very sweet fruits stands out, with good acidity, fruity notes and a wide variety of descriptors.
The origin of the name Tributos del Ota dates back to pre-Columbian times, when the territory that currently corresponds to the canton of Dota was occupied by indigenous people from the Huetar de Oriente Kingdom. Etymologically, Dota has its bases in the name of the Ota chieftain, chief of the “Quepoas” tribes who used the valley as a trade route. At Tributos del Ota we
want to rescue the legacy of the past by making coffee a tribute to the Ota chieftain for the rest of the world.
Tributos del Ota inherits the excellence of the past to produce a specialty coffee that with its
natural aroma and flavor delight the palate of every day thanks to the hard work of the Romero Chacón Family which since the 80s has worked with dedication this beautiful bean.
