Description

Santa Lucia farm it is located in the Cerro Azul Meámbar natural reserve, in the municipality of Siguatepeque. Santa Lucia has microclimates, altitude, and soil composition, which are ideal for the production and harvesting of specialty coffees. It was founded and is managed as an experimental farm, in which we only plant exotic varieties and experiment with differentiated post-harvest processes.
Santa Lucia farm was acquired in 2014 by Eleane Mierisch of Nicaraguan nationality and Mark Dundon, Australian and owner of the Seven Seeds café. Jesus Cruz is the person currently in charge of agricultural activities, under the monitoring of the Mierisch family and Erwin Mierisch was the supervisor of the farm's export activities this year.

They cultivate Gesha, Yellow Pacas, Red Pacas, Orange Bourbon, Red Bourbon, Laurina, SL-28, Ethiosar, y Red Catuai
They have have 5 people who collaborate on the farm permanently
In Finca Santa Lucia they perform Protection of forests and water reservoirs adiccionally a proper management of coffee processing wastewater and pulp. Protection of sources of water.
We are participating with a Geisha coffee washed process. It is a coffee that is extremely floral, notes of jasmine with a sweetness of blueberries, peaches, creamy body and a juicy aftertaste, it is an extremely exotic coffee, complex, but at the same time balanced.

Due to the benefits of the micro-climate, soil, and altitude of Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia Farm have an optimal environment to produce high quality coffee. Their cherry harvesting regimen is quite strict and they only allow the harvesting of cherries that are at their optimum point of ripening. This, in conjunction with closely monitored post-harvest processes, and 100% slow solar drying techniques, allow them to produce coffees of exceptional quality. The Geisha variety, although delicate and sensitive to diseases, gives them a unique and exotic cup profile. All this requires a lot of work, but in our experience in the world of specialty coffees, they have learned that the effort is reflected in the cup and in the sale price.
For us it is important to be able to participate in the cup of excellence since it allows us to receive comments from various professionals around the world and it also manages to place our coffees at better prices but at the same time push ourselves to always improve quality.
