Description
Flávio Márcio Ferreira da Silva is a second-generation producer. He planted coffee with his father until he was 12, when his father passed away. His own history with coffee began at 15, helping his mother and each day seeing his own life purpose more clearly: cultivating the land. With his vast experience acquired over the years running the family business in various crops, coffee is without a doubt his passion, and the passion of most of the inhabitants of the Cerrado Mineiro region. His first specialty coffee planting happened on a leased farm in the city of Campos Altos, Minas Gerais. Seeing that his main purpose was to produce extraordinary coffees from the start, nowadays it is one of the areas on which he produces the most incredible coffees in the High Cerrado Mineiro.
Flávio Márcio, as a second-generation producer, carries on the labor of love born of his father’s dreams.
The coffee was picked with about 90% ripe coffee cherries and taken directly to drums. After 30 hours, fermentation was interrupted and the coffee was hulled in the honey process. The coffee then returned to the drums for another 30 hours during which double fermentation occurred. After this process, it was taken to the asphalt pátio. Once dried, the coffee rested in 10 days and was processed.
Mapping is always performed before every harvest to discover maturation percentages and to measure Brix. Picking is done with a maximum of 15% green cherries. Coffee cherries are picked selectively and the producers take all due care with post-harvest processing. Women are involved in the production process.
Until 2021, the farm held UTZ certification. In 2022 and 2023, it obtained Rainforest Alliance certification, RA_00083182202, valid until 17 May 2027. It is also certified by Orfeu, CAFE Pratices and Regenagri.
