Description

Overview

Candido Vladimir Ladeira Rosa’s father acquired Fazenda Ouro Verde at the end of the 1980s. His purpose was to invest in a good option to obtain a more stable family income. Candido Rosa learned from his father how to take care of the farm’s coffee plantations. The property is located in the town of Piata, State of Bahia, region of the Chapada Diamantina. The average temperatures vary between 2 and 17ºC, in lands at an altitude of approximately 1,260 meters. The conservationist vision of the owner can be evidenced by his concern with the destination of all pesticide packaging; pesticides are used always under technical guidance and supervision. Moreover, Mr. Rosa is engaged in the continuous effort to maintain or replant native trees in the property. Furthermore, he stimulates job generation, for the families that have been working in the farm since the time his parents were the owners, so that they have an income that allows them to continue in the rural area, living in a full and worthy way.

Coffee processing system

Great care is exerted to produce quality coffees, from adequate preparation of the soil to plant the nursery trees to coffee bean processing and storage. The cherry beans are picked manually on a hand-held basin. Twice a day, tractors transfer the beans to the pulper area, to prevent beans fermentation. Coffee is dried on terraces, where beans are spread in thin layers of 4cm and revolved approximately 20 times a day. After drying, the lots are numbered and kept separately, in a warehouse that has the required conditions for coffee storage. Concern with quality The producer is always paying attention to the new techniques to produce quality coffees, and invests in the most adequate equipment in order to obtain the best final results.
