Description
History
I come originally from the municipality of Pedregal, my father was a coffee producer too. Before being a coffee grower I was a trader in coffee. I had the chance to study and I got my title in Agricultural Enterprises Management. I have also been a teacher for 10 years now. I live in the farm with my mother, my aunt and 3 nephews. I am still single. I am a member of the association of producers of the region.
Environmental Care
I don´t destroy nor cut the native trees in the farm, 2-3 years ago, I seeded 1300 cedars, looking for the preservation of the environment. I also have seeded some guava trees and avocadoes. I am currently building a plant for treatment of residual water to avoid the contamination of the water sources. This is a process I am doing now because Im looking for getting the Rainforest Alliance Certification.
Coffee Processing Information
At the time of the harvest, we only pick red cherries, the depulping is done the same day without using any water. Fermentation takes until next day. After that the coffee is washed and finally the drying process is done in patios.
