Description
History
Im an 40 years coffee grower who started in the coffee 15 years ago. I am married and I have 4 children, they are between 8 and 19 years old. When I got the farm, I started with red beans crops, and after several years I changed to coffee crops. All my life I have lived in the Paez municipality. In addition to coffee, I also produce in the farm Yucca, Plantains, Orange, Avocado, etc.
Environmental Care
I have shade trees in the farm, such as Guamos and Chachafrutos, I dont burn or cut the shade trees. I dont use chemical pesticides in the farm either. I also have a septic tank and a special place for the domestic wastes. I use the pulp of the coffee as a fertilizer for the coffee and also for the fruit trees.
Coffee Processing Information
The wet milling process I do in the farm is in the traditional way, I use clean and fresh water for washing the depulped coffee every day. The fermentation takes from 10 to 14 hours and I have the solar parabolic drier.
