Located in the Southern Province of Rwanda, District of Huye, Simbi Sector and Cyendajuru Cell, Simbi Coffee Washing Station, owned by Simbi Coffee Investment company was built in 2011 and 2012, the season of 2013 started with processing capacity of about 300 MT of cherries per season and a 2.8 MT/hour pulping machine. Simbi CWS employs an average of 85 people over a period of three months, out of them around 80% are women and was the first washing station for this investor in the region.  Simbi Coffee Washing Station process Arabica Bourbón coffee from imbereheza cooperative made of  of 250 members (60% women) from Simbi, Maraba, Sovu and Kigoma sectors currently growing coffee trees on around 45 Ha., is situated almost 5750 feet (1760 m) above sea level. The Coffee Washing Station procees the coffee of surrounding neighbors in Simbi Sector and others coming from Maraba Sector in Cells of Buremera and Shanga. The area is in the same agro-ecological conditions with Maraba sector which is has continually revealed its uniqueness in producing the best coffee!

The Highest quality products

Our aim is to bring to the world the highest quality fully washed coffee. For this we have set measures and established a strict control of the quality at each step of the processing chain. Simbi uses the wet fermentation method, and density sorting using grading channels and water after which a sun drying process is conducted.

*Simbi has obtained several and have been awarded with different prizes in the Cup of Excellence competition in 2013 (9th place) and 2015 (7th place).
