Description
The land was acquired in 2019 due to environmental conditions, soil, and location because it is next to another farm that has been in the family for years. The land was totally replant with Geisha, Pacamara and SL-28. Part of the farm is still a forest with the purpose of creating better micro climates and more resilient landscapes.
Las Hortensias belongs to a third generation of Coffee growers from Huehuetenango who saw the potential of the land and decided to carry out a complete renovation of the area and sow the lots separating varieties and agronomic management. (It has a weather station which can be observed online http://meteorologia.anacafe.org/Clima/)
The seeds from the geisha were bring from Panama and carefully selected the best plants. This is the first Second Harvest and the plant is getting bigger and is better for the futures crops we are willing to keep investing in develop a better crop profile. The journey is just starting.
