Description

My name is Rony José Herrera Ortez owner of the Fila Quemada farm, winner of the 27th place in the Cup of Excellence Contest Nicaragua, fila quemada farm is located at an altitude of 1475 to 1620 above sea level, with varieties of Catuai 85%, 10% Catimor. I am the third generation of coffee producers in my family, first my grandfather Don Carlos Herrera, followed by my father Roger Esau Herrera, they started producing coffee in the 80's in Jalapa in the San Juan hill.

One of the special qualities of the farm is to be producing specialty coffee since 2010, and the farm is located in the mountain range Dipilto-Jalapa near the hill Mogotón which is 2107 meters high, with a special microclimate starting the harvest in January ending in the month of May.

In cup of excellence I participated with a lot of Catuai washed in a 100% traditional process, with a special cut the reddest possible to try to have the best quality. Good management, three cleanings during the year, three fertilizations, five foliar applications to the plant. We have participated 6 times in the Cup of Excellence, obtaining 12th place, 25th place and this year 27th place, thanks to God we are always among the best coffees in Nicaragua.
Thanks to the Cup of Excellence Contest in 2013 I met my client and to this day remains with us, the contest was the axis that opened the doors to the market, we hope to continue to expand the market and that our coffee continues to have an enhancement and a quality score.

I feel honored and happy to be on this list, where many would like to be in these places.
