2b Platanares, 90.4 - Honduras 2021

Iris Dariela Carbajal is the owner of Platanares farm is located in San José, Esquipara of the municipality of San Andrés, department of Lempira, on the slopes of the Congolon National Park, with an altitude of 1,650 meters.
They are four generations as coffee producers at a family, Iris began cultivating 8 years ago, the farm is managed by her father and herself.
It produces varieties such as IHCAFE 90, Lempira and Typica.
On his farm 5 people work permanently and during the coffee harvest 15 people, with the collaboration of 7 members of his family.
They perform conservation practices of natural resources such as manual weed control with a machete, planting of contour lines, use of shade trees, live barriers. Proper handling of coffee by-products, honey waters and coffee pulp.
