CLARA LUZ COFFEE FARM
According to our family records, the farm was planted with coffee with the Typica variety (called Criollo) approximately 80 years ago, and 10 years ago (2014) for a personal goal, I decided replanted with new high quality varieties such as Sidra and Geisha, the farm is located in the Province of Loja ( Ecuador), Canton Quilanga, at an altitude of 1720 masl, the climate and soil of this area is unique with average temperatures of 19 oC, loose soils, rich in organic matter, long dry season and climate and with annual rainfall of 800-1000 mm, and also in Clara Luz farm, the coffee is under shade and promotes the care, protection and reforestation with native species of southern Ecuador, such as Nectandra reticulate, Sapindus saponaria L, Triplaris cumingiana , Ficus cuatrecasana Dugand, etc., it is noteworthy that in the shade coffee and native trees is the perfect environment for the coexistence between the coffee crop and several species of birds in the south of Ecuador.
