Description
My name is Walter Pineda and I am proud to be part of the second generation in the coffee business. As an economist with a master's degree in Finance, I am committed to the success of our farm. Soon, I plan to obtain a master's degree in Coffee Growing and Business, as well as take a course in Barismo. Since my childhood, my father used to take me to the farm during the harvest season. There, I learned about the aspects of the business, from harvesting the coffee to processing the pulp, washing, drying and storing.
My farm is called La Perla, in allusion to how small and special it is. Thanks to my father, Alfonso Pineda, who leased me a small plot of coffee in the village of El Izotal, canton Los Planes, in the municipality of La Palma, Chalatenango. My objective was to plant Pacamara at an altitude of over 1500 masl. The idea was to start small and so I did. We have excellent workers; throughout the year, about 3 people attend my farm, and during the harvest, about 20 people participate.
