8 - Bello Horizonte - Perú 2023

When we saw the need to title the land, he asked us to give our farm a name. In conversation with my family we decided to call it Bello Horizonte, since from our house you can see the horizon through which we traveled to get to the farm. In addition, the place is very cool, humid and the cold is intense in rainy seasons.

In the 2000s we began to grow local products on virgin land, together with my brothers Samuel and Teodoro. At the beginning we started cultivating a small coffee plot which we saw was profitable, to get to the place we had to walk for more than 10 hours starting from the main track that goes to Puerto Ocopa. In this way we moved with my family for a period of 4 years. They went through many problems to stay in the place called Lurín Chincha, there was even a time when there was conflict with a Native community that was a few kilometers from the land. After more than 7 to 8 years, logging companies began to enter to extract wood in exchange for opening a road and thus little by little we were extending coffee cultivation, since it was projected to have more access from the farm to the Mazamari district. About 4 years ago, coverage of a telephone line arrived, which has been very useful since before we communicated through letters or through radio announcements, until now there is no electricity, but all the residents who live there choose to use a panel solar to replace electricity which was very useful.
