HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE COFFEE BUSINESS - A BRIEF HISTORY?
24 years in the coffee business.
The farm "Jesus Mountain Coffee Company Nicaragua, S.A." was founded in 1999. Located right on the Jesus Mountain from which the name of the farm is derived, this mountain has an altitude of 1,836 meters and is the second highest peak in Nicaragua. The property is part of the Dipilto - Jalapa mountain range on the border of Nicaragua with Honduras.
The founders of the farm "Jesus Mountain Coffee Company Nicaragua S.A." had two parallel motivations for its foundation: 1. The desire to produce quality coffee and 2. The desire to preserve the natural environment in the community that houses the Cerro de Jesús and its surroundings.
It produces coffee at various altitudes under shade, from 900 to 1,450 meters above sea level in the varieties: Java, Pacamara, Maracaturra, Caturra, Catuaí, Hibrido H1, Marsellesa, Obata and has a wet mill to pulp, ferment and wash coffee before transporting it to the dry mill.
The Jesus Mountain farm has been Rainforest Alliance certified since 2012.
The current management is headed by Lester Abel Umanzor Perez and is supported in his role by a team of experts, including both external professionals and farm-trained workers, whose experience and dedication to the farm's success has earned them leadership positions within the farm.
As part of our continued efforts to focus on quality coffees, in 2018, we added to our full-time team a quality controller, Judith Marileth Amador Rivas, who has over 10 years of experience in cupping/quality control issues in the coffee industry. Our quality controller follows up on our coffee, providing feedback to the farm team at every step.
COFFEE PROCESSES THAT SHE HAS BEEN WORKING WITH.
We have been working the coffee from the farm with a Traditional Wash and we are doing Micro lots of Melado and Natural process.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS AFTER BEING IN A CUP OF EXCELLENCE?
Our expectations are focused on producing quality coffee to obtain a better price.
