From the slopes of the highest mountain in the region, the majestic "Cozoltepetl", is the "Finca Ejecayan" at an approximate height of 1300 m.s.n.m. with 0.75 ha of total cultivated area of Marseille variety coffee. Productive activity is and has been familiar and has been seen since the time of my grandparents, my parents and I, Leandro Ronquillo Martinez. The “Finca Ejecayan” is a purchase from my father since April 2005 with a typical coffee plantation; from there, this variety was worked with for more than 10 years. It has shade native to the area such as oak and fruit trees such as orange, macadamia, bananas and peaches; In addition, the shade of chalahuite(Inga vera) and piñón (Pinus cembroides) was introduced, which help to provide an adequate concentration of sunlight necessary for the development of the plantation. The land has a slope in its entirety, there is no flat part. After the arrival in the region of the plague called coffee rust, there was a total change of varieties on the farm. Currently there is a new plantation of approx. 5 years with Marseille variety resistant to coffee rust and also with virtuous characteristics in the cup. The sowing was done in "tresbolillo" with a distance of 1.80m. between bushes and 2m. street or corridor which allows each plant to obtain the hours of daylight required for optimal growth per day, as well as helping the movement of people at the time of harvesting the grain. Every year the weeding work begins (three times a year) on the farm, three fertilizations are also carried out during a 100 gr cycle. each one, apart from pruning and replanting if necessary. More than 80% of the works are carried out in a family way, which leads to certain occasions not covering all the needs of the plant. The Farm has a total of 1250 plants, in which year after year the best wishes for the production and the hopes of an increase in the quality of life of all those involved in the activity are deposited: Producer, seller and consumer.
