Description
Alem is a 65-year-old widow and a mother of 10 children. She owns 10.2506Ha of land in Adame Kebele, Yirgachefe woreda, Gedio Zone of the SNNP region. She grows 74158 coffee variety and processes Natural coffee. She entered her coffee in the COE competition after she heard about it on the news. Though she didn’t win last time, this is her second entry in COE. “I am excited that I made it to the top 40,” she says. “I am planning to expand my farm and modernize it,” she adds.
“I grew up in a coffee-loving family. I raised my children working with coffee. My whole life revolves around coffee,” says Alem.
